De Lima: 'Naisip ko na lahat ng worse scenario: Ikukulong ako o papatayin'

Cases against Senator Leila de Lima has been filed over her alleged involvement on the illegal drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison.

The former Secretary of Justice stated that she is already primed for two worst case scenarios that might ensue her, she would either rotten in jail or be killed.

"Naisip ko na lahat ng worse scenario: ikukulong and probably worse than that. Sana naman huwag nila ako patayin para naman mayroon akong konting laban," said De Lima.

The Senator also said that she has intentions to answer all allegations being thrown against her and she is just waiting for the right time. She elucidated, "I just have to weather the storm and wait for that time when there's an atmosphere already for truth-telling."

She also claims that there has been coercion like threats, harassment, lies and deception against her but she would wait for tamang panahon, "devoid of any pressure, intimidation, or fear... In the meantime, haharapin ko na muna ang mga kaso."

The House Comittee on Justice which is conducting the probe on the illegal drug trade in NBP has issued a show cause order that is addressed to Senator De Lima through Representatives Rodolfo Fariñas and Reynaldo Umali for her failure to face the congressional inquiry on the narcotics trade in the national penitentiary.

Meanwhile, Senators Tito Sotto and Chiz Escudero has advised that House of Representative to file an ethics complaint instead of serving a show cause order to De Lima.

"If it is addressed to Sen. De Lima directly, then it is for her to answer and not the Senate," said Senator Sotto.

Per Senator Chiz Escudero, "Sa parte namin sa Senado, wala namang aksyong kailangang gawin ang Senado dahil ang show cause ay naka-address lang sa isang miyembro namin."
